My name is Catarina Caeiro, and I am a 19 year old Portuguese student, finishing my last year of the HND course, at BCU.
It was from a young age that I began to have a great passion for visual arts, and to express whatever I wanted from my drawings and creations. I’ve always loved playing with brushes, pens and colored pencils to explore shapes, colors and stories. And following my studies in an artistic branch was what I most wanted to study, being able to have the freedom to express all my ideas, explore my imagination through any type of art.
I discovered the passion for jewellery at the age of 15, entering this wonderful world of metals and precious stones, sparkles and colors, and that’s when I realized the stories and messages that I could convey and represent in my jewellery. I was able not only to express myself, but also to change something in the world and in the people around me.
For me, jewels are not just jewels, they are stories, ideas and a fantastic way of expressing myself and who I am. Jewels are my narratives, the books I write, representing my stories, messages and symbolism to the world
