Deeply connected and inspired by the nature of the human body. Carina’s work focuses on organic shapes, textures and as of most recently, the human skin. She, therefore, sets out to develop a connection between jewellery and the body.
In her most recent collection Carina was inspired by the stretch marks on her skin. Not simply their shape and likeness, which she achieved by utilising traditional metal materials. But also, by introducing sunlight as an unconventional tool to create tan marks that mimic natural bodily lines, as part of her work.
Resulting in the idea of modifying the body itself, into a piece of jewellery. And therefore transforming the “imperfection”, into an embellishment, intended for adoration.
She sets out to give people the opportunity to focus on their own body and celebrate the beauty within their imperfections.
