Jewellery is a way to feel the world. In nature there are many unconventional forms of existence, and Yidan likes to capture the uniqueness of nature from a biological perspective. In the series,she is obsessed with discovering the peculiarities of marine creatures. Taking the opportunity of recreating transparent materials, she combines jewellery craftsmanship with ancient Chinese Thangka painting techniques, which traditionally uses gemstone pigments. Yidan uses bismuth in her work to give marine creatures new life. Using jewellery as a visual carrier to convey pleasure through observing small unique details of these special creatures. It is hoped that the audience can engage with this work and experience the difference in natural creatures and learn more about life.
