I love the traces of time on objects. Whether it is human factors or natural factors, the formation of these traces is unconscious and natural. The traces of time are diverse, such as changes in the colour of objects, changes in shape, changes in surface texture, and so on. I leave part of the design to the process, and I am an observer. The process of making the work itself is also the design process. I am the trigger of the whole process. At the same time, I also add appropriate human intervention to a series of uncertain factors.
Based on the concept of traces of time, the proportion of “human intervention” and “hand over to the production process itself” is not static in creating works with different themes. The two mainly depend on which kind of ‘trace of time’ this theme mainly emphasises.
