Hi, I am Charles from Malaysia.
My project proposal is concerned with the Adaptive Reuse of buildings located around Kuala Lumpur.
As part of the process of urbanization new buildings are developed to serve specific functions whilst in their wake older buildings become abandoned and remain unused. As this advances people continue to move to the city.
This leads to the city’s population and density increasing meaning green space covers an ever decreasing area with the resultant reduction in air quality.
The proposed scheme aims to provide a healthy environment for people with improvements to air quality, shelter, food and living space playing an important role.
The scheme proposes that agriculture becomes integrated with buildings, the idea is to attract people to farm and harvest their own food with innovation and design working to make the process easier.
KebunDesa is designed to support the user through the cycle of farming, harvesting, cooking, eating and finally composting.
