Growing up close to nature and running around barefoot has greatly influenced my studies at BCU. Throughout the years my designs were inspired by processes, shapes, and movements of flora.
I developed an interest in sustainable buildings that put upfront the human-nature connection to develop a sense of care for the environment in each individual.
My design proposal in the Black Country seeks to live in harmony with its surroundings by creating a balance between old and new, bringing together traditions and the local vernacular with modern developments. And the dead land is to be healed with plants to bring life back to it, by transforming derelict plots of land into space for urban agriculture. An open process of harvest and processing happening in sync with the daily routine of locals will aim to raise interest, understanding, and awareness of nature surrounding us.
