I am a RIBA Part 1 graduate, progressing as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant. I have gained valuable knowledge throughout my time at Birmingham City University which has allowed me to find my strengths and interests. I have gained a passion for sustainable design over the past three years. Alongside this, I really enjoy creating diagrams and making physical models to help tell the story of the design process.
I have really enjoyed working on my final year project which has been all about the Black Country. My concept for this project has been derived from themes explored in previous projects. This includes the exploration of languages and accents and how this can be translated into architecture. It has been really interesting to approach a design that explores accents where I have successfully reflected this throughout my whole design process. There are obvious but yet subtle elements that have been inspired by the Black Country and the unique accent itself to create the architecture of the building. Through unique, immersive learning experiences, I have provided a space to explore Black Country words and phrases that is grounded in a solid understanding of language arts and history.
