I am an Architectural Assistant for Corstorphine and Wright Architects with an avid interest in social responsibility, sustainability and working with young adults and children and architecture.
I am an active RIBA Learning ambassador and member of the Birmingham Architectural Association. My passion for architecture derives from my love of craft and detailing and I enjoy anything to do with creating and making.
My thesis project proposes an archive, gallery and teaching and learning space for The Historic Physics and Astronomy Department, The University of Birmingham. Whilst integrating with the wider civic institution, the space promotes and exhibits learning, knowledge and understanding by engaging the users of the building with key concepts in design and spatial design. The thesis project enables specialist research to be conducted as well as a public entity enabling students to gather, the storage and conservation of artefacts, study spaces, viewing galleries and an external courtyard.
The human impulse is enabled to allow the user to immerse themselves within the wider cosmology. The mind is encouraged to take precedent over the external elements and integrate a relationship with the cosmos, the sky, the stars, the planets, the sun, the moon.
