While studying BA (Hons) in Architecture, I have developed an interest in community resilience and finding ways to empower and support communities in overcoming challenges and building a stronger future.
This project tackles the urgent issue of social injustice through a design policy that addresses the community’s concerns. By focusing on local interventions with a global impact, the project aims to create an innovative architectural design that alleviates difficulties caused by cultural and societal challenges. Recognizing the interconnection between communities and architecture, the project emphasizes the role of architecture in fostering and supporting communities. It seeks to explore how architecture can contribute to eradicating social injustices and solving social problems. The project advocates for promoting ownership, responsibility, and accountability to empower individuals with shared interests, fears, or identities as well as aims to cultivate an engaged citizenry and combat social injustice by addressing concerns of identity, community, and history in the food bank of Nechells Green.
