Studying as a student of architecture, I am able to reflect on the abundance of skills and abilities that have developed throughout this time. By working on proposing a thesis and exploring individual interests I was able to progress much further and effectively express my creative capabilities. A beginning to the next chapter of my architectural journey.
The work presented is part of my thesis project ‘Revealing the thresholds’ which looked to intervene and adapt the existing conditions of the chosen site, an art centre located in the Highgate area of Birmingham, as a means of developing a civic life. This is proposed to add depth by transforming rationalized threshold moments into transitional spaces that are adaptive in incorporating various activities. This is done within the idea of ‘economy of means’ that looks for careful consideration in managing resources.
