Gabriel’s jewellery and objects are inspired by subtle textures that are missed in day-to-day activities – the delicate folds and creases of an unmade bed. He follows these elegant forms and expresses them through jewellery and metalwork. By framing these subtle textures, he aims to accentuate minute details that otherwise would’ve been surpassed. He has studied the relationship between form and function as well as quality, this work is a culmination of his studies.
He uses both ceramics and metal to recreate the waves and ripples caused by human movement. This is reflected in the neutral tone of the pieces; it implores the viewer to inspect the subtle nature of the piece. Each piece is handcrafted by Gabriel in his studio in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
This collection aims to shed light on they subtleties that have been missed
