I am a jeweller and metalsmith from the Black Country who also graduated from the HND course in 2020 and is currently studying foundation gemmology. I am an aspiring conservator.
My inspiration and passion for jewellery and metalwork is derived mainly from history, from ancient times all the way to contemporary designs. Throughout the last three years, my designs and physical work have revolved around incorporating the themes, styles, and processes used in historic metalwork, employing both modern and traditional technologies to bring designs to life.
My final major project utilised a combination of both modern technology and 3D CAD software, as well as traditional hand-making bench skills, to produce an Anglo-Saxon sword. Inspired by archaeological and museum research, the aim was to explore traditional metalwork examples and produce my own interpretation, showcasing a number of skills.
