Biography

Landscapes provide invaluable areas for both human and ecological habitation, I believe that landscape architecture is the key to regenerating a diverse range of many under appreciated, neglected and often forgotten landscapes, via high quality inclusive, purposeful and exciting design schemes. This is something I am extremely passionate about, and I pride myself on striving to create proposals which not only meet the brief, but advance its intentions to include new, interesting and innovative ideas/solutions in both my student submissions and freelance work. To ultimately give landscapes a strong place identity, that fights back against the creation of bland or unimaginative landscapes.

This ethos has led to the creation of my Major Project proposal, titled ‘Project Poole’. To transform the bland and monotonous public realm of the declining coastal town of Poole, Dorset, UK. By creating a socially engaging, vibrant and exciting regeneration scheme, that not only overalls Poole town centre, but respectfully incorporates the distinct coastal heritage, existing textured architectural/landscape materiality and that celebrates the coastal sense of place (with a distinctive coastal/drought tolerant planting scheme) of Poole’s contextual location.

Design Process- Docklands Planters - Docklands Angular Planters/ Protective flood wall are influenced by the angular structure of existing derelict industrial warehouses on Docklands site.
