Biography

As digital leader, Pearl Zhu expressed, “Innovation becomes possible only if people can step out of their comfort zone.” Despite the fact that no one in my family had ever considered design as a profession, I was determined to take the road less travelled. I stepped out of my comfort zone and pursued my bachelors degree in Textile Designing from NIFT, Bangalore, India, and eventually accomplished my masters in Design Management from Birmingham City University, UK. Reflecting on my journey thus far, I realised that I want to be an intrapreneur because my key intrinsic motivation is to utilise my professional skills to make a positive impact on people’s lives at a macro level. My area of expertise has always been identifying opportunities and curating strategies to offer viable solutions. I am particularly interested in human-centered ethical design approach, which is reflected on my personality as well as on my design outcomes. As an aspiring design manager, I am confident in my ability to bridge the gap between business and creative teams while maintaining collaboration at the forefront of the decision making process.
