I am a Textile Design student specialising in print with a focus on fashion fabrics. Colour is central to my work and I love getting inspiration from my natural surroundings, as it has such uplifting potential.
This collection of printed fabrics aimed at the bespoke fashion market draws on the concept of colour therapy to explore how the colour and pattern of our clothing can affect our overall moods and expressions. The idea for the collection came about by observing the monotony of daily life during the pandemic, and wanting to disrupt it with mood-changing and confidence boosting design ideas that are suitable to be worn both inside and outside of the home.
The printed fabrics draw on an uplifting tropical floral theme and have been hand-dyed using resist techniques and then overprinted to provide surfaces that intrigue and delight.
